Hi
Awesome site! Looking forward to building many rafts (currently ordered 2 UL, 1 for wife and 1 for me for hiking with but will later order tougher versions for bike rafting).
Great to have a community to ask questions, and see new ideas, and read trips planned or already travelled!

New user here just starting out on a Skeena build (a kit someone else imported but didn’t start the build other than separating out the parts). Looking forward to getting on with it and exploring the Scottish Highlands.

thanks matt, that’s very reassuring. I’ll get to the end of assembly then decide on the best course of action.

I thought I’d share some posts of my completed summer project (Skeena).

First outing in the Lake District NP (U.K.): my girlfriend and I hiked over Place Fell and down the other side. I paddled and she did a trail run back to the car…

@FJ Guy: I would order a cheap Leather Iron of Aliexpress like this: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32833241758.html It works really great and I think better than those Coverite Irons.

Hi, I’m not a bot.
I’ve done many packraft trips using borrowed Alpacas, it’s time for me to build a Telkwa. I’ll definitely be buying a kit in Jan 2021.
Thanks 🙂

Hi, any updated Daanivd? How does it handle after a year, any issues?
I am also considering installing one to my Rogue.
Best,

Hi, I’m on the email list for a Skeena and I managed to find a used Coverite Black Baron on fleabay for cheap. Hopefully it works otherwise I’ll just order one of those Prolux digital irons. I have an Alpacka Llama being made but I would like to make a packraft on my own. Looks like a fun project.

Thanks for the tips, and excellent idea to use the double D-rings!
I’ve gotten to the point where my new packrafts will hold air indefinitely, but I’ve built way more of them than you and my first couple of attempts leaked way worse than yours, so it sounds like you’ve done a great job. You could try to track down where the air is coming from…[Read more]

Hi – it doesn’t look too bad; I would probably just spread a bit of Aquaseal over that area, or seal a scrap of tube fabric over it if you don’t mind the look of a bit of yellow there (it’ll be on the bottom of the packraft, so not visible when in use).
It could be the temperature is too high, but it looks good elsewhere, so maybe just avoid…[Read more]
