Somewhat related question that I’ll pose here rather than starting a new post. Has anyone used HH 66 as a seam sealer? Do you think it could be an effective seam sealer? Perhaps a sprinkle of baby powder on top to minimize it from gluing to itself when folded? I inherited a V2 that was 75% built. It has a double layer floor to give an idea…[Read more]

Thanks. I also have a 360 camera and a stick for it. I was thinking of putting a fishing rod holder in the spray deck, slightly smaller, right behind the back seat, and adding a strap tie-in for it further up one of the rear tubes. most of the rivers I run have at least 1 stretch of class II-III and I want video of it. I haven’t attached the…[Read more]

Thanks, Clay – I use a 360 degree action camera on the end of my trekking pole. The camera captures video of everything around it, and then I frame the shots when I’m editing at home. The trekking pole disappears from the shot because it’s hidden in the stitch line between the camera’s two lenses.
It takes some experimenting to figure out the…[Read more]

I didn’t know where else to ask this… You have some great video paddling on your trips. How do you secure your camera to the boat? I can thin of several ways, but none of them will get the same high point of view you have….

It worked! puffed it up this morning, and no bubbles on the zipper! It remains to be seen if this is a durable repair, but that will have to wait until the water is soft again… Given the time is available the the glue to cure, this technique could be used in a remote situation if seam-grip and zipper lube are in the repair kit.

that was my thinking also… worst case a new zipper in the boat, and a 25cm zipper for a bow bag or something. may even learn something about repairing it. At least I didn’t glue the zipper together this morning! I’ll wait until tomorrow to pressure test it.

Thanks for the picture and more info. I haven’t heard of anyone trying the Seam Grip trick, but I was going to suggest something similar. At this point, I don’t think you have much to lose, unfortunately. If the Seam Grip doesn’t work, you could also try scraping a bunch of TPU off of some scrap fabric and melting it into the divot (after cleaning…[Read more]

OK. I got a pic, its pretty poor, but you can see the damage. I did the repair described above, I’ll see if I glued the zipper together this evening.

I tried to get pics, but it is too small to see well at my cameras closest focus. The divot (melted spot) is directly across the edge of the sealing surface, going about 2/3 of the way down the sealing surface. It is indeed where bubbles form when sprayed with soapy water. I don’t think there is any lip preventing the seal, I suspect it is ju…[Read more]
