Occasionally someone asks if I can send their parcel by a shipping service other than the standard option (which is through the post office) because although couriers like Fedex, UPS, DHL, etc. cost more than the regular postal service, they may be more reliable in some countries.
I will send an order using a different shipping method if a customer really wants it, but because my process for shipping by post is largely automated, it takes a lot longer for me to ship via courier, so I ask that the customer go to the courier’s website and purchase a pre-paid shipping label themselves and then send the label to me in an email so I can print it out and stick it on the package. That way, you and I don’t have to send several emails back and forth figuring out how much it will cost and how you can pay me for it, and it also prevents me from making an error when addressing the parcel.
To purchase a shipping label, you’ll need to know the size and weight of the parcel, and you can find this in the “Additional Information” tab on each product page (for the packraft kits, the weight and dimensions on the Additional Information tab are for the packaged kit, not the completed packraft). If you’re ordering more than one relatively large item, you can wait until I’ve packed it up and I’ll tell you the actual weight and dimensions.
If you plan to do this, you will need to enter “ship_by_courier” into the coupon code box and choose “Free Shipping” as you complete your order on the DIY Packraft website.
