    Hello!

As far as I can tell, the DIY kits being sold aren’t baffled, which is one of the key differences to me between a kids toy I can carry around and a packraft — I don’t want to be in the middle of a lake or river with a hole compromising the whole boat!  Are there instructions to baffle if I want to, or am I wrong in my assumption that there aren’t baffles already?

    Thank you!

Hmm, strange assertion since none of the Alpackas are multi chamber as far as I know. Those are definitely pro tools not pool toys.

Hi! I don’t offer a baffled option because it adds a significant amount of weight and complexity to the build, but it’s easy to add multiple chambers to your packraft if you have an airtight zipper installed – just put some drybags inside. This has been tested by at least one DIY Packrafter who paddled with the inflation valve open (on purpose), and he made it to shore just fine.
