I found it a bit difficult to iron the seams over a bowl and keep them aligned with the joining strip in the middle. I found that bonding the strip along one side of the seam first helps to get it aligned centrally, and then it’s easier to get the other seam aligned properlyI also found a piece of curved timber works a treat – just line the seam parallel to the edge and you can’t go wrong. Also because the curve is elliptical you can move the fabric along the timber until the seam curve sits perfect flat for ironing. Can also use a bigger iron if the timber is the same thickness as the strip.
