Matt (Admin) commented on the post, Overseas? Save money by using a "freight forwarder" 1 year ago
Hi Eleonora, unfortunately I don’t have an answer for you and I doubt you will receive one here anytime soon because I have only a few customers in Italy and I don’t recall any of them having used a freight forwarder. You might be able to find more information elsewhere online – if so, please tell us here. Also, sometimes the direct route is the…[Read more]

Matt (Admin) replied to the topic Offcuts and Seconds in the forum DIY Packrafts 1 year, 1 month ago
Hi Eric, now that I’ve gotten rid of the offcuts I had accumulated over several years, the offcuts and seconds are rarely in stock (like only a few units added to the shop every few months).
There are three reasons, the first being that I include more of the scrap fabric with the packraft kits than I used to, the second being that I have some…[Read more]

Matt (Admin) replied to the topic New users say "Hi" here to prove you are not a Spam Bot in the forum DIY Packrafts 1 year, 2 months ago
It’s a good question, and one that I can’t answer, but only spam bots are currently banned, so certainty isn’t necessary. If you are a spammer, you will be banned regardless of whether you are human or bot (if there is even a real distinction between the two).

I haven’t made specific instructions yet, but you can either install it the same way as a SuperSeal or you can iron it directly to the tube fabric from the “inside” side of the tube. You will be on your own if you want to install it in a seam, at least for the time being, as I haven’t done that yet myself.

Not officially, but you could use some of the scrap fabric that is included in the kit to do that.

Yeah, that’s something I’ve thought about, but once there’s TPU on both sides of the standard tube fabric then it’s only slightly lighter than the standard 450 GSM floor fabric – the difference isn’t big enough to make it worthwhile on a floor that’s about one square meter (it might save 50 or 100 grams compared to using the standard weight floor…[Read more]

It sounds like an Ultralight is what you want… I paddle class 1+ in the Ultralight and sometimes carry my wife with me on lakes. If you dig through my old YouTube videos you can see me doing these things in earlier versions of what became the Ultralight. Just four days ago a customer who built an Ultralight emailed:
“By the way last weekend I…[Read more]
