At long last! The Skeena, Telkwa, and 2-Person packraft kits are now available in all colors and sizes, and spray decks and spray skirts are also available. (Bulk fabric sales and Ultralight packraft kits will not be available for the foreseeable future.)
Every DIY Packraft kit is custom made by me (Matt) and I process orders in the sequence they are received – I’m not sure how many orders I’ll receive in the next few days, but quite a few people have signed up to be notified when they’re available, so if you want a kit as soon as possible, please place an order without delay. (If you’re not in a hurry, there’s no need to rush; I have enough fabric to last quite a while.)
Please note: as you complete the checkout process on the DIY Packraft website, you will see estimated delivery dates beside the different shipping options. Normally I try to keep these updated to reflect the current situation, but because I don’t know how many orders to expect, the dates will not be accurate.
Also note that DIY Packraft is a one man show, so please don’t expect speedy replies to email inquiries as I catch up on orders (product descriptions, the FAQ page, and the website’s search bar hold the answers to most questions).
While you’re waiting for your packraft kit to arrive, you might enjoy watching videos from my 30-day, 775 km (480 mile) packrafting and hiking traverse of Vancouver Island. I posted a “highlights” video from this trip a few months ago, and now the first three vlog episodes are also available to watch on YouTube. The remaining 26 episodes will be posted throughout February, so if you want to come along for the entire journey, please subscribe to the DIY Packraft YouTube channel and click the notification bell to be notified when a new video is posted.
Thanks for your patience!

Hi. I want to put skegs on the bottom so it will track straighter when I paddle. Any thoughts?

I haven’t experimented with skegs, but there’s some general advice in the last section of this page: https://www.diypackraft.com/faq/tracking-or-directional-stability/

Thanks for the notification. Ordered a Skeena within minutes of receiving it, and a friend ordered a Telkwa afew hours later. Curious how many orders you received on day 1 to maybe have an idea on when they might ship. Ready to build this :-).

Hi Matt. It says the Telkwa spray deck and skirt are on backorder in the shop pages. I put an order in anyway.

Yeah, the decks and skirts have been more popular than I expected so I need more of the non-fabric components, but that shouldn’t take too long.

Hey there, I just placed an order due to arrive early May-ish. Do you think spray decks/skirts will be available by then to add onto my order? Thank you Matt!
Matt (Admin) · March 17, 2021 at 2:07 pm
Great! Yes, the spray deck components just arrived 20 minutes ago 🙂

Thanks for the good news regarding hit availability. Bummer though about the UL fabric. Very interested in purchasing a UL should those kits ever become available again.
