Update: Shipping times are mostly back to normal.

You may have seen in the news that the Canadian province of British Columbia, where DIY Packraft is located, has experienced severe flooding and that all the highways and railroads leading to the city of Vancouver have been washed away or buried.

The region where DIY Packraft is located has not been directly affected, but in normal circumstances nearly every package I send is routed through Vancouver, so if you place an order in the near future, you may experience a shipping delay.

Canada Post is recommending that for timely delivery you should choose the more expensive Xpresspost shipping method, because Xpresspost is sent by air and will be less affected than the cheaper options. (Things sent by “Small Packet Air” etc. are typically driven to Vancouver before being loaded onto an aircraft.) For the latest announcements from Canada Post, check here.

I suspect that even Xpresspost will suffer delays as they attempt to move a higher volume of mail than usual, so please keep that in mind when you place an order.

The estimated delivery dates you see beside the shipping options on the Cart page are never guaranteed, but they are usually pretty accurate – I have no idea how accurate they will be for the foreseeable future.

Thanks for your understanding.

So, it sounds like you do have materials, it’s just the shipping out of orders that is a problem?
I can’t put anything in the cart (to see “estimated delivery dates”) becous it says “out of stock?
Thanks for any more clarification you can provide.

Thanks for your interest in a DIY Packraft kit – I’m just counting inventory, so there should be an update in a few days.
